Most pieces are made to order however, Skillins Furniture Company usually has a small selection of furniture designed and made by Stephen Skillins made for sale. Custom orders are usually the better choice because this gives the customer the ability to chose exact style, wood, finish, etc. that they desire.

Made in 2011 by Stephen Skillins. Solid Cherry. Pined mortise and tenon joinery. Cabriole legs.Turned stretchers. Curved splat for comfort. Hand carved shell carved into crest rail (not applied). Balloon slip-seat with traditional upholstery.Finish is linseed oil, shellac, and wax. Replica of a 1730s Salem chair on display at the PEM in Salem MA (see original below) Price $1000

Built circa: 1750 by Ebineezer Martin of Boston MA. Inspiration for piece below. Piece is on display at the Jeramiah Lee Mansion in Marblehead MA. Chest is located on the stair landing inside the mansion.

Built by Stephen Skillins in 2011. Piece is a replica of the chest shown above. Solid Honduran Mahogany. Secondary wood is Eastern white pine. Both woods match original. Dovetaile case. Dovetailed drawers. Ogee bracket feet. Brass hardware. 4 Locking drawers that taper in size from small to large starting at the top. Piece is finished with a water stain followed by shellac and wax. Entire piece is made by hand and took over 2 months to complete. Price $4500

Back is flat and is designed to be placed against a wall or behind a sofa. Top is Solid Honduran Magogany that was re-sawn to 3/4 inch thick coming from the same slab as the rest of the table. Top has a thumb moulding shaped into front and side edges and overhangs the apron 3/4 inch. Table was designed by Stephen Skillins but was inspired by a John Goddard of Newport Rhode Island table as well as many other Chippendale side tables from the period.
